Around the bend from Edwards Newport Cinema, so-to-speak, is the Fashion Island 7. This complex was built during a time of major renovation and expansion of the Fashion Island Mall.
This complex featured THX Sound in all of its auditoriums and at least one screen was equipped for 70mm projection. Each auditorium, however, had fixed, one-size-fits-all screen, negating the visual impact of widescreen and 70mm presentations.
The theatre is still open.
